Overview
I was a fan of Overwatch 1, a popular hero shooter game made by Blizzard Entertainment. I enjoyed making funny custom games and would sometimes host public lobbies for the community to play.
When Overwatch Workshop was released, it unlocked a lot of customisation potential for custom games. I poured hundreds of hours into making workshop games for the community to enjoy. I have now built a community of around 300 Discord members supporting my workshop content and had works featured by Overwatch Streamers such as KarQ.
While I initially used the in-game editor for scripting, I then moved on to Overpy, a Python-based scripting extension made by the Workshop Community in Visual Studio Code, which allowed me to write Python codes and the extension will compile it into workshop script that can be pasted into the game.
As I worked on the custom games myself, I did all the scripting. The custom games' import codes are then shared in workshop.codes. As I had to make the pages look presentable, I did thumbnails for all my workshop content in Photoshop, and some even had trailers made in DaVinci Resolve.
I was also involved in a collaborative project with the Workshop Community to bring "One Workshop for every hero" to the Overwatch community, which is a collection of hero-specific trainers for every single Overwatch 1 Heroes.
